More About This Fabric
Midnight Blooms is a wonderfully luxurious quilted fabric with the softest velvet-touch finish.The outer features an oversized, richly coloured floral design set against a deep black background, giving the fabric a dramatic and almost painterly appearance. The reverse is a plain black lining, while the softly padded construction adds warmth, body and structure without making the fabric feel overly stiff.
Made from 100% polyester, the outer surface has a beautifully smooth, velvety handle that makes this quilted fabric feel particularly special. The flowing quilted design adds subtle texture while allowing those gorgeous florals to remain the star of the show.
Available in two colourways: Sapphire, combining intense blues, violet and soft green tones, and Fuchsia, with vibrant pink, magenta and violet blooms.
A fabulous choice for statement quilted jackets, coats, gilets and overshirts. It would also work beautifully for bags and accessories where you want something a little more luxurious and eye-catching.

Sewing Notes
Recommended Needle:
Use a fresh Universal 80/12 or 90/14 needle, depending on the thickness of your layers.

Stitch length: A slightly longer stitch of around 3–3.5mm works well with quilted fabrics.
Use clips: Sewing clips can be easier than pins when working through the padded layers.
Reduce bulk: Grade seam allowances and trim excess bulk where necessary, particularly around collars, pockets and enclosed seams.
Walking foot: A walking foot can help keep the quilted layers feeding evenly through your machine.
Finish raw edges: Use an overlocker, zigzag stitch or binding to give exposed edges a neat finish.
Press carefully: Use a moderate iron temperature and avoid flattening the quilting too heavily.
