More About This Fabric

Babycord is a finer, lighter version of traditional corduroy, with delicate narrow ribs that give the fabric its distinctive texture without making it feel heavy or bulky.
Soft to the touch with a lovely velvety surface, it has enough body to hold its shape while remaining comfortable and easy to wear. This makes it a really versatile choice for garments that need a little structure without the weight of a heavier cord.
Its fine wale gives it a more subtle finish than classic corduroy, making it suitable for everything from casual everyday pieces to more polished autumn and winter garments.
As with all corduroy fabrics, babycord has a directional nap, so pattern pieces should be cut in the same direction for an even appearance.

Care Instructions

Machine was 30 degrees, Do Not Bleach , Iron on a low heat , Tumble Dry Normal Low Heat

Sewing Notes

Recommended Needle:
Prym Sewing Machine Needles Sys. 130/705 Standard 70-90

Watch the nap: Cut all pattern pieces in the same direction.
Press carefully: Press from the wrong side and avoid flattening the pile.
Reduce bulk: Grade bulky seams around waistbands, pockets and facings.
