We photograph almost all of our fabrics and products ourselves and take great care to represent their colours as accurately as possible.

If you love classic denim with a little twist, this beautiful striped cotton denim from Fibre Mood is a wonderful choice for your next sewing project.Featuring fine, evenly spaced navy and white stripes, this fabric has a lovely traditional workwear feel that's both timeless and easy to wear. The stripes are yarn-dyed, meaning the yarns are coloured before weaving, creating a design that's part of the fabric itself rather than simply printed onto the surface.
Woven from 100% cotton, this medium-weight 230gsm denim offers a lovely balance between structure and wearability. It's substantial enough for trousers, skirts and relaxed overshirts, while also being suitable for shirt dresses and other everyday garments.
Imagine a fabulous pair of wide-leg trousers, a classic utility-style jacket or a relaxed shirt with contrasting stripe directions on the pockets. The simple design offers plenty of opportunities to get creative with your pattern placement.
The classic navy and white colouring makes it wonderfully versatile and perfect for creating pieces you'll wear again and again.

This Fabric Is Perfect For...
Wide-leg trousers, relaxed trousers, overshirts, utility jackets, shirt dresses, pinafores, A-line skirts, dungarees and coordinated separates.Sewing Notes
Cutting: Take care to keep the stripes straight when laying out your pattern pieces. Cutting in a single layer can help with accuracy.
Pattern Matching: Consider matching the stripes at side seams, centre fronts and pockets for a beautifully finished garment.
Stripe Placement: Have fun using the stripes in different directions on pockets, cuffs or yokes for an interesting design detail.
Stitching: A standard straight stitch of approximately 2.5–3mm should work well. Test on a scrap first.
Seam Finishing: Finish raw edges with an overlocker or zigzag stitch to prevent fraying. Flat-felled seams are another lovely option for a traditional denim finish.
Pressing: Iron at a maximum temperature of 150°C, as advised by Fibre Mood. Test on a scrap first.
Top Tip: If you're making trousers or a skirt, consider using contrasting topstitching to highlight the lovely workwear-inspired design.

We do not test our fabrics for flammability. Please refer to the fabric composition in each listing for fibre content.
