A Note About Product/fabric Colours

We photograph almost all of our fabrics and products ourselves and take great care to represent their colours as accurately as possible.

However, colours may appear slightly different in real life due to lighting, photography and variations in individual screen and monitor settings. For this reason, we cannot guarantee an exact colour match.

We kindly ask that you keep this in mind before placing your order. If an exact shade is essential to your project, or you're unsure about a colour shown in our photographs, we recommend contacting us before purchasing.

Please note that slight colour variations between our photographs and the actual product are not considered faults and are not, on their own, grounds for a refund.

More About This Fabric

If you love fabrics with a little something special, our Willow Weave Chenille Jacquard is sure to catch your eye.
This beautiful fabric is all about texture. Fine vertical ripples run through the surface, interrupted by rows of delicate raised chenille detailing that create an intricate, almost embroidered appearance. The combination gives the fabric a softly gathered, smocked effect that's wonderfully tactile and full of interest.
Despite its textured appearance, Willow Weave is surprisingly lightweight at just 120gsm. The fabric has a lovely fluid drape, allowing it to fall into soft, relaxed folds rather than feeling stiff or structured.
One of its most interesting features is the natural give created by the woven construction. The gently gathered texture allows some movement across the fabric without the addition of elastic, making it particularly lovely for comfortable, easy-to-wear garments.
The raised chenille threads add another dimension to the design, catching the light and highlighting the beautiful woven pattern.
Available in two gorgeous earthy shades, Terracotta Rose and Woodland Taupe, Willow Weave would be equally beautiful made into a simple top, a flowing dress or a pair of relaxed wide-leg trousers.
This is one of those fabrics where you really don't need a complicated pattern. Let the beautiful texture do the talking!

Care Instructions

- Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle.
- Wash with similar colours.
- Do not iron.
- Air dry, ideally away from direct heat.
- Prewash before cutting, as some shrinkage may occur.
I'd also recommend using a gentle spin and avoiding tumble drying to help preserve the fabric's lovely texture.

Sewing Notes

Recommended Needle:
Universal needle, size 70/10 or 80/12

Willow Weave has a beautiful textured surface, so a little extra care during cutting and sewing will help achieve the best results.
- Recommended needle: Start with a new universal needle, size 70/10 or 80/12.
- Cutting: A rotary cutter and cutting mat can be particularly helpful. Avoid pulling or stretching the fabric while cutting.
- Pattern placement: Keep the textured lines running vertically and take care to maintain the direction of the design across your pattern pieces.
- Stitching: Use a regular straight stitch, approximately 2.5mm, testing first on a scrap. A walking foot may help if the textured layers shift while sewing.
- Seam finishing: Finish raw edges with an overlocker or narrow zigzag stitch to prevent fraying.
- Pressing: Avoid ironing directly onto the fabric, as heat and pressure could flatten the delicate raised chenille texture.
- Pattern choice: Simple shapes work beautifully with this fabric. Avoid designs that require lots of precise pressing or intricate tailoring.
A little sewing tip: Because the fabric has natural give from its gathered construction, take care not to stretch it while handling or sewing. Staystitching curved edges may also help them retain their shape.
