More About This Fabric

This striking Atelier Jupe viscose features a bold abstract print made up of sweeping, hand-painted brushstrokes and playful geometric shapes.

Set against a deep navy background, the design combines rich emerald green, cobalt blue, magenta, soft peach and warm ochre. The visible brush textures give the print an expressive, artistic feel, while the dark base keeps the overall look sophisticated and very wearable.

Soft, fluid and beautifully drapey, this viscose is ideal for garments where you want plenty of movement. It would look fantastic made into a flowing dress, statement blouse, skirt, wide-leg trousers or relaxed shirt.

The larger scale of the print really comes into its own on simple garment shapes, allowing those colourful brushstrokes to do all the work.

Care Instructions

Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle.

Wash with similar colours and use a mild detergent. Do not bleach. Avoid tumble drying where possible and allow to air dry naturally.

Iron on a low to medium heat on the reverse of the fabric.

We recommend pre-washing your fabric before cutting, as viscose can shrink slightly during its first wash.

Sewing Notes

Recommended Needle:
Microtex 70/10

Viscose is beautifully soft and drapey, but it can be a little slippery to cut and sew, so take your time when working with it.

Pre-wash before cutting and allow the fabric to relax and dry fully. When cutting, use plenty of pattern weights or fine pins and avoid lifting or stretching the fabric as you work.

A Microtex or Universal needle in size 70/10 is ideal. Use a standard straight stitch of around 2–2.5 mm.

Stay-stitch curved areas such as necklines to help prevent them from stretching, and handle bias-cut edges carefully.

Finish raw edges with an overlocker or zigzag stitch, as viscose can fray. Press gently using a low to medium heat and avoid pulling or stretching the fabric while pressing.
