More About This Fabric

This beautiful Atelier Jupe viscose features a bold botanical print on a deep denim-blue background.

Large stylised flowers and leafy stems in soft cream and blush tones sweep across the fabric, with fine mustard-gold outlines adding definition and warmth. Some of the blooms include striped detailing in the same deep blue as the background, giving the design a lovely graphic, almost hand-drawn quality.

Despite the scale of the print, the colour palette keeps it very wearable. The denim-style blue works beautifully with the warm cream and golden tones, making this a versatile fabric for autumn and beyond.

Soft, fluid and beautifully drapey, it is ideal for blouses, dresses, skirts and relaxed shirts, particularly styles with gathers, soft sleeves or plenty of movement.

Care Instructions

Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle.

Wash with similar colours and use a mild detergent. Do not bleach. Avoid tumble drying where possible and allow to air dry naturally.

Iron on a low to medium heat on the reverse of the fabric.

We recommend pre-washing your fabric before cutting, as viscose can shrink slightly during its first wash.

Sewing Notes

Recommended Needle:
Microtex 70/10

Viscose is beautifully soft and drapey, but it can be a little slippery to cut and sew, so take your time when working with it.

Pre-wash before cutting and allow the fabric to relax and dry fully. When cutting, use plenty of pattern weights or fine pins and avoid lifting or stretching the fabric as you work.

A Microtex or Universal needle in size 70/10 is ideal. Use a standard straight stitch of around 2–2.5 mm.

Stay-stitch curved areas such as necklines to help prevent them from stretching, and handle bias-cut edges carefully.

Finish raw edges with an overlocker or zigzag stitch, as viscose can fray. Press gently using a low to medium heat and avoid pulling or stretching the fabric while pressing.
