More About This Fabric

Marrakesh Garden is a beautifully detailed quilted cotton with a wonderfully rich, bohemian feel.

The design is filled with swirling florals, leafy shapes and decorative motifs in a mix of warm rust, coral, lilac, green and soft yellow tones, all set against a deep background. A coordinating striped border adds an extra decorative detail and gives the fabric even more personality.

Pre-quilted and softly padded, this fabric is ideal when you want texture, warmth and structure without having to quilt the layers yourself. It works beautifully for jackets, gilets, bags, accessories and home sewing projects where the print can really take centre stage.

Sewing Notes

Recommended Needle:
Use a fresh Universal 80/12 or 90/14 needle, depending on the thickness of your layers.

Prewash first: Prewash before cutting, following the care instructions for the fabric.
Needle: Use a Universal 80/12 or 90/14 needle, depending on the thickness of your layers.
Stitch length: A slightly longer stitch of around 3–3.5mm works well with quilted fabrics.
Use clips: Sewing clips can be easier than pins when working through the padded layers.
Reduce bulk: Grade seam allowances and trim excess bulk where necessary, particularly around collars, pockets and enclosed seams.
Walking foot: A walking foot can help keep the quilted layers feeding evenly through your machine.
Finish raw edges: Use an overlocker, zigzag stitch or binding to give exposed edges a neat finish.
Press carefully: Use a moderate iron temperature and avoid flattening the quilting too heavily.
