A Note About Product/fabric Colours

We photograph almost all of our fabrics and products ourselves and take great care to represent their colours as accurately as possible.

However, colours may appear slightly different in real life due to lighting, photography and variations in individual screen and monitor settings. For this reason, we cannot guarantee an exact colour match.

We kindly ask that you keep this in mind before placing your order. If an exact shade is essential to your project, or you're unsure about a colour shown in our photographs, we recommend contacting us before purchasing.

Please note that slight colour variations between our photographs and the actual product are not considered faults and are not, on their own, grounds for a refund.

More About This Fabric

If you love adding a splash of colour to your handmade wardrobe, this fabulous cobalt blue vegan leather from Fibre Mood is certainly one to consider!

Featuring a beautifully smooth, leather-like surface with a subtle sheen, this fabric has a rich blue colour that gives it a modern, contemporary feel. It's a wonderful alternative to traditional leather, offering plenty of possibilities for creating something a little different.

Woven from a blend of 90% polyester and 10% cotton, this medium-to-heavyweight 290gsm fabric has a firm, structured feel, making it ideal for garments where you want a little shape and definition.

Imagine a fabulous biker-style jacket, a simple A-line skirt or a pair of statement trousers. It's the sort of fabric that can turn even a straightforward sewing pattern into something really special.

Care Instructions

As recommended by Fibre Mood:
Hand wash only in cold or lukewarm water using a gentle detergent.
Do not bleach.
Do not tumble dry.
Do not iron.
Do not dry clean.
Allow to air dry naturally, away from direct heat.
Our Tip: We recommend testing a small sample before washing your finished garment. Avoid soaking for long periods, wringing or twisting the fabric, as this may damage the leather-look finish.

This Fabric Is Perfect For...

Biker jackets, cropped jackets, structured blazers, A-line skirts, mini skirts, straight-leg trousers, pinafores, bags and accessories.

Sewing Notes

Needle: A Microtex needle, size 80/12 or 90/14, is a good starting point. Test on a scrap before sewing.

Cutting: Use sharp scissors or a rotary cutter and pattern weights to keep the fabric in place.

Pinning: Use sewing clips wherever possible, as pins can leave permanent holes in the leather-look surface.

Stitching: A slightly longer stitch length of approximately 3mm can help achieve a neat finish.

Presser Foot: A Teflon or non-stick presser foot can help prevent the surface from sticking as you sew.

Seam Finishing: Depending on the backing, raw edges may need finishing with an overlocker or zigzag stitch. Check on a scrap first.

Pressing: Do not iron. Finger-press seams and use topstitching where appropriate to help them lie flat.

Top Tip: Avoid unpicking wherever possible, as needle holes may remain visible. A little extra time spent testing your stitches and checking your fit before sewing is well worth it!
