More About This Fabric
Stardust Leopard is a beautifully soft sweater knit combining a classic animal print with the prettiest hint of sparkle. The leopard design is knitted through the fabric in contrasting tones, while tiny flecks of multicoloured shimmer catch the light across the surface. The sparkle is subtle rather than overpowering, giving the fabric a lovely elevated finish that works just as well for everyday wear as it does for something a little more special.
The fabric has a soft, comfortable handle with the cosy feel you would expect from a sweater knit, making it ideal for relaxed garments and layering pieces. The sparkle is woven into the look of the fabric without making it feel rough or scratchy.
Available in four rich colourways — Navy, Khaki, Anthracite and Dark Brown — each one gives the leopard design a slightly different feel, from classic neutrals to deeper autumnal tones.
This Fabric Is Perfect For...
A fabulous choice for jumpers, sweatshirts, relaxed tops, sweater dresses, cardigans and comfortable layering pieces. It would also make a lovely alternative to a plain knit when you want something wearable with a little personality and just the right amount of sparkle.Suggested Patterns
Sewing Notes
Use a fresh ballpoint or stretch needle, ideally size 80/12, and a good-quality polyester thread.
A narrow zigzag, lightning stitch or stretch stitch can be used on a regular sewing machine or use maraflex thread with a slightly longer straight stitch, or the fabric can be sewn with an overlocker.
Use clips or fine pins to hold layers in place and avoid pulling the fabric through the machine as you sew.
A walking foot can be helpful if the layers shift.
For hems, use a twin needle, coverstitch or stretch stitch for a neat flexible finish.
Press gently on a low to medium heat and always test on a scrap first, particularly because of the sparkle fibres.
