More About This Fabric
Velvet Garden Cotton Jersey is a gorgeous statement print with a wonderfully rich, painterly feel.Large-scale florals are scattered across a softly blended background, with layers of pink, peach, plum, rust, cream and deeper shadowy tones creating depth and movement throughout the design. The flowers have an almost photographic-meets-watercolour quality, giving the print a slightly dramatic, luxurious feel without becoming too formal.
Printed onto a soft cotton jersey base, this fabric has the comfort and stretch you want for everyday knit garments while still allowing the print to take centre stage. It would work particularly well for simple shapes and wardrobe staples where the large floral design can really shine.
The Mulberry colourway has a deep berry and plum background with soft pink florals, while Russet moves into warmer terracotta, burnt orange and earthy brown tones — perfect for autumn sewing.

Maraflex thread is a great option for cotton jersey as it has built-in stretch, allowing you to sew flexible seams and hems using a straight stitch.
For beautifully neat, stable hems, Vlieseline Stretchfix T30 is also really useful. It helps hold the hem securely in place before stitching and reduces stretching or waviness as you sew.
