More About This Fabric
Tencel™ Lyocell is a sustainable, semi-synthetic fabric made from wood pulp, usually sourced from eucalyptus, beech, birch, or spruce trees. The name Tencel™ is a brand name owned by the Austrian company Lenzing AG, while Lyocell refers to the type of fiber and manufacturing process.Key Features of Tencel Lyocell:

Solvent used is non-toxic (aminoxide), unlike harsher chemicals used in viscose/rayon production.

Sewing Notes
Recommended Needle:
Prym Sewing Machine Needles microtex 60-80
A Microtex or sharp needle in size 70/10 or 80/12 works well. A fresh needle will help prevent snagging or puckering.
Because Lyocell can be fluid and slippery, make sure the fabric is completely flat and relaxed before cutting. Pattern weights and a rotary cutter can be particularly useful.
Use fine, sharp pins
Use a low-to-medium heat with steam and press rather than dragging the iron across the fabric. A pressing cloth is useful, particularly on darker colours, to help avoid shine or marks.

We do not test our fabrics for flammability. Please refer to the fabric composition in each listing for fibre content.

We do not advise using our fabrics in clothing with high risk requirements such as children’s clothes,uniforms, dancewear, sportswear, upholstery etc.
