Hadid is a sewing pattern that reimagines the classic Adidas track pants into a souped-up, couture-inspired piece with a modern twist. The iconic three stripes are transformed into delicate pintucks, offering a subtle nod to sportswear while keeping your look timeless and chic.
The elasticated topstitched waistband ensures maximum comfort, while the semi-fitted cut flatters all body types. Discreet pockets are cleverly hidden in the seam of the third pintuck to maintain clean lines, and you can choose between zipped or snap button openings at the hem to showcase your shoes with ease.
Hadid checks all the boxes for comfortable track pants while providing a sophisticated silhouette. The pattern includes pants, but also shorts and bermuda options, making it perfect for year-round sewing and versatile styling.
You can choose between two waist heights depending on the size range: low-slung (just below the navel) for range 1, and high-rise (at the navel) for range 2, but you can easily alter the pattern to get your desired waist height.
Whether you sew the pants, shorts, or bermuda version, Hadid is the ideal pattern to add comfortable, stylish, and creatively tailored pieces to your handmade wardrobe. Ready to sew your souped-up Hadid?
View 1 and 2: Woven fabric, 190–220 gsm, with some fluidity and drape. Prefer a Tencel fabric with twill (serge) weave or crepe, or a linen/Tencel blend. The samples shown on the website are made in Smooth Drape Tencel twill.
View 3 and 4: For the bermuda/shorts version, you can choose a crisper fabric such as linen, cotton poplin, or raw silk. You can also use a non-stretch woven fabric designed for men’s swim shorts (water-repellent microfiber).
Note that the drier and less drapey the fabric is, the more volume the garment will have.
The samples shown in the photos are made in linen, dupioni silk, and Tencel twill.
All views: Printed fabrics are not recommended if you wish to highlight the pleats.
