A Note About Product Colours

We photograph almost all of our fabrics and products ourselves and take great care to represent their colours as accurately as possible.

However, colours may appear slightly different in real life due to lighting, photography and variations in individual screen and monitor settings. For this reason, we cannot guarantee an exact colour match.

We kindly ask that you keep this in mind before placing your order. If an exact shade is essential to your project, or you're unsure about a colour shown in our photographs, we recommend contacting us before purchasing.

Please note that slight colour variations between our photographs and the actual product are not considered faults and are not, on their own, grounds for a refund.

Sometimes it's the simplest sewing tools that make all the difference, and this Hemline Dressmakers Carbon Paper is a really handy one to have tucked away in your sewing stash!

Perfect for transferring pattern markings directly onto your fabric, this clever little essential helps take the guesswork out of dressmaking. Whether you're marking darts, pleats, button placements or other important pattern details, carbon paper makes it easy to get those markings exactly where you need them.

Simply pop a sheet between your sewing pattern and fabric, with the coloured side facing the fabric, and use a smooth-edged tracing wheel to transfer your markings.

Each pack contains five sheets in a selection of colours, so you can choose the one that shows up best on your fabric. There's white for darker fabrics, along with blue, red and yellow for different fabric colours.

It's one of those traditional dressmaking tools that's still just as useful today, especially when you're working on a project with lots of little details to transfer.

Our BTPD Tip: Always test your chosen carbon paper on a little scrap of fabric first, especially if you're working with something delicate or a lighter-coloured fabric. Some markings can be tricky to remove, so it's worth checking before you start. And remember to use a smooth-edged tracing wheel for the best results!
