More About This Fabric
Starlight Ponte is a beautifully soft, high-quality ponte with a subtle touch of sparkle.Tiny shimmering dots are scattered closely across the surface, creating a delicate glint as the fabric catches the light. The effect is understated rather than flashy, making this a lovely choice when you want something a little special without going full-on sequins or glitter.
With 55% rayon as its main component, this ponte has a wonderfully smooth, soft handle and feels comfortable against the skin. The sparkle does not make the fabric feel rough or itchy, so you still get all the comfort and versatility you would expect from a good-quality ponte.
Its stable knit construction gives it more body and structure than a regular jersey while still retaining stretch and flexibility, making it particularly suited to garments where you want a clean silhouette with plenty of comfort.
Available in Midnight, a classic deep black, and Graphite, a sophisticated dark grey.

Sewing Notes
Recommended Needle:
Ballpoint or stretch needle
Use a ballpoint or stretch needle, depending on how the fabric behaves in your machine. A size 75/11 or 80/12 should work well.
A standard polyester thread is suitable.
Use a narrow zigzag stitch, lightning stitch or stretch stitch on a regular sewing machine or a straight stitch and matching maraflex thread . Sew with an overlocker if preferred.
Because ponte is more stable than a lightweight jersey, it should cut and handle easily without excessive curling or shifting.
Avoid stretching the fabric as you sew, particularly around necklines, shoulder seams and hems.
For hems, a twin needle can give a neat professional finish, although a simple stretch stitch also works well.
Press using a low to medium heat and always test on a scrap first. Because of the sparkle detail, press from the reverse where possible and avoid prolonged direct heat on the surface.
