If you love a fabric that looks as cosy as it feels, this beautiful mohair-look coating from Fibre Mood is sure to catch your eye!Featuring a wonderfully soft, fluffy surface with long, delicate fibres, this fabric has the beautiful appearance of mohair without containing any animal fibres. The warm cream colouring gives it an elegant, understated feel, while the textured finish adds plenty of interest.
Woven from 100% polyester, this substantial 430gsm fabric is ideal for creating warm outerwear with a luxurious, slightly fluffy finish.
Imagine a gorgeous oversized winter coat, a simple collarless jacket or a cosy statement gilet. The beautiful texture really speaks for itself, so even a simple sewing pattern can look rather special.
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, meaning it has been tested for harmful substances.
This Fabric Is Perfect For...
Winter coats, oversized coats, tailored jackets, cosy gilets, structured capes, coatigans and warm outerwear.Sewing Notes
Cutting: Use sharp dressmaking scissors or a rotary cutter. Cutting in a single layer may help keep the fluffy surface in place.
Nap: Check the direction of the pile before cutting and lay out all pattern pieces in the same direction for a consistent finish.
Stitching: A slightly longer stitch length of approximately 3mm may work well with the substantial fabric.
Seam Finishing: Grade bulky seam allowances to reduce thickness. Consider lining jackets and coats for a beautifully neat interior.
Pressing: Do not iron, as heat and pressure may flatten or damage the fluffy surface. Gently finger-press seams instead.
Interfacing: If your pattern requires interfacing, consider a sew-in option rather than fusible interfacing.
Top Tip: Keep a soft brush handy to gently release any fibres caught in your seams after stitching. Always test on a scrap first.

We do not test our fabrics for flammability. Please refer to the fabric composition in each listing for fibre content.

We do not advise using our fabrics in clothing with high risk requirements such as children’s clothes,uniforms, dancewear, sportswear, upholstery etc.
In general fabric may pose a strangulating, entanglement or suffocation risk, especially to children and vulnerable adults. Always keep out of reach of children and vulnerable adults.
