More About This Fabric
Paperweight – Paprika by Kaffe Fassett is a wonderfully lively cotton lawn filled with hundreds of small circular and floral motifs. The design has an almost millefiori or glass-paperweight effect, with tiny rings, flowers, dots and abstract shapes packed closely together across the surface. Warm paprika, coral and rust tones create the main colour story, while pink, lilac, turquoise, lime green and touches of blue add contrast and energy.
The close-packed repeat gives the fabric a rich, textured appearance from a distance, while up close there is an incredible amount of detail to discover. It is bold and playful, but the small scale of the motifs makes it surprisingly easy to wear.
Printed on lightweight cotton lawn, the fabric is smooth, soft and breathable with a gentle drape and enough stability to sew easily. It is a lovely choice for garments where you want lots of colour without relying on a large-scale print.
This Fabric Is Perfect For...
Dresses, blouses and shirts, summer tops, gathered skirts, tiered dresses, lightweight trousers or shorts, pyjamas, statement linings and accessories.I think shirt dresses, softly gathered dresses and blouses with interesting sleeve details would look particularly beautiful in this one.

Sewing Notes
Recommended Needle:
Microtex needle
Pre-wash your fabric before cutting, using the same method you intend to use for the finished garment.
Use a fine universal or Microtex needle, approximately size 70/10, together with a good-quality all-purpose polyester thread.
Because this lawn is lightweight, fine pins or sewing clips will help avoid marking the fabric. A standard straight stitch of around 2–2.5 mm works well.
Lightweight interfacing is recommended for areas such as collars, cuffs, button bands and facings.
The detailed, multi-directional print is relatively forgiving when cutting and makes pattern matching less important than it would be with a strong stripe or large directional motif.
Finish seams with an overlocker, zigzag stitch or French seams for a particularly neat finish on lightweight garments.
