More About This Fabric
Bring a little attitude to your handmade wardrobe with our Wild Side Brushed-Back Sweatshirting. This gorgeous sweatshirting features a bold, oversized leopard print with a softly mottled background that gives the design extra depth. The Silver colourway keeps things cool and monochrome with shades of grey, charcoal and black, while Caramel has a warmer palette of tan, biscuit and black.
The real appeal is on the inside, where the fabric has a beautifully soft brushed back for extra warmth and comfort. It has that cosy sweatshirt feel without being overly bulky, making it a brilliant choice for everyday garments that you will reach for again and again.
The large-scale animal print works particularly well with simple, relaxed patterns where the fabric can do the talking. Think sweatshirts, hoodies, sweater dresses, joggers, casual jackets and cosy co-ordinating sets.
It’s a fun alternative to a plain sweatshirting and an easy way to add a statement print to an autumn/winter wardrobe.
This Fabric Is Perfect For...
Sweatshirts, hoodies, sweater dresses, relaxed tops, joggers, pull-on skirts, casual cardigans and comfortable everyday separates. It would be especially lovely for a statement sweatshirt with fairly simple style lines, so you can really see those fabulous flowers.

Sewing Notes
Recommended Needle:
Ballpoint / Jersey needle 75/11–80/12.
Use a ballpoint or stretch needle, ideally a size 80/12, to avoid damaging the knitted fibres. Use either a small zigzag stitch & regular thread or use Maraflex thread when sewing on a regular sewing machine so that your seams retain some stretch.
Try not to stretch the fabric as you sew, particularly around necklines, cuffs and hems. A walking foot can be helpful if your machine tends to feed knit layers unevenly.
Because of the bold leopard print, take a little extra time with pattern placement before cutting, especially on centre fronts, pockets and sleeves.
For hems, a twin needle can give a lovely professional finish while still allowing the fabric to stretch.
