More About This Fabric
Colour Rush is exactly that – an explosion of glorious colour.Large, expressive florals sweep across a deep navy background in an incredible mix of hot pink, raspberry, vivid orange, coral, purple and flashes of lavender. The flowers have a loose, hand-painted quality, with visible brushstroke-style details giving the whole design movement and depth.
This is a stretch woven viscose, so you get the softness and beautiful drape you'd expect from viscose with the added comfort and flexibility of stretch. It feels fluid without being overly flimsy, making it a really versatile choice for dressmaking.
The large-scale print is the star here, so it would work beautifully with relatively simple garment shapes. Whether you turn it into a fabulous dress, flowing trousers or a colourful co-ord, Colour Rush is definitely not one for blending into the background.
This Fabric Is Perfect For...
Dresses, jumpsuits, blouses, shirts, skirts, wide-leg trousers, tapered trousers and relaxed co-ords.The added stretch also makes it particularly lovely for trousers and more fitted woven dresses where you'd appreciate a little extra comfort and freedom of movement.

Sewing Notes
Recommended Needle:
fine Universal or Microtex needle, size 70/10 or 80/12
As this is a stretch woven, choose your pattern according to the amount and direction of stretch in the fabric. It can be particularly useful for fitted woven garments where a little extra ease and movement is welcome.
Use a fine Universal or Microtex needle, size 70/10 or 80/12, and a good-quality polyester thread.
Use sharp scissors or a rotary cutter and pattern weights for accurate cutting. Take care not to allow the fabric to hang over the edge of your cutting table, as its weight can pull it out of shape.
Because of the large-scale floral, spend a little time positioning your pattern pieces before cutting so you can decide where you'd like the larger blooms to fall.
