A Note About Product/fabric Colours

We photograph almost all of our fabrics and products ourselves and take great care to represent their colours as accurately as possible.

However, colours may appear slightly different in real life due to lighting, photography and variations in individual screen and monitor settings. For this reason, we cannot guarantee an exact colour match.

We kindly ask that you keep this in mind before placing your order. If an exact shade is essential to your project, or you're unsure about a colour shown in our photographs, we recommend contacting us before purchasing.

Please note that slight colour variations between our photographs and the actual product are not considered faults and are not, on their own, grounds for a refund.

More About This Fabric

There's something so lovely about a rich olive green fabric, particularly when it comes to creating timeless outerwear!

This beautiful brushed wool blend from Fibre Mood features a soft, gently fuzzy surface and a gorgeous earthy olive colour that works wonderfully with neutrals, creams and warm autumnal shades.

Woven from a blend of 60% polyester and 40% wool, this substantial 460gsm fabric has a lovely weight and structure, making it ideal for coats, jackets and other garments where you want warmth and shape.

Imagine a gorgeous longline winter coat, a classic tailored jacket or a simple, relaxed gilet. The beautiful brushed finish adds a touch of luxury, while the versatile olive shade makes it easy to incorporate into your handmade wardrobe.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, meaning it has been tested for harmful substances.

Care Instructions

As recommended by Fibre Mood:
Hand wash only in cold or lukewarm water using a gentle, wool-safe detergent.
Do not bleach.
Do not tumble dry.
Do not iron.
Do not dry clean.
Dry flat naturally, away from direct heat.
Our Tip: We recommend testing a small sample before washing your finished garment. Avoid vigorous rubbing, wringing or sudden changes in water temperature, which can cause wool fibres to shrink or felt.

This Fabric Is Perfect For...

Winter coats, oversized coats, tailored jackets, relaxed jackets, cosy gilets, structured capes and warm outerwear.

Sewing Notes

Needle: A universal needle, size 90/14 or 100/16, is a good starting point for this heavyweight fabric. Test on a scrap first.

Cutting: Use sharp dressmaking scissors or a rotary cutter. Cutting in a single layer can help with accuracy on heavier fabrics.

Nap: Check the direction of the brushed surface and cut all pattern pieces in the same direction for a consistent finish.

Stitching: A slightly longer stitch length of approximately 3mm may work well with this substantial fabric.

Seam Finishing: Grade bulky seam allowances to reduce thickness, particularly around collars and facings. A lining can help create a beautifully neat interior.

Pressing: Do not iron, as advised by Fibre Mood. Finger-press seams and consider topstitching where appropriate.

Interfacing: If your pattern requires interfacing, choose a sew-in option rather than fusible interfacing.

Top Tip: Take care when handling the brushed surface, as the nap may appear slightly different depending on the direction it lies.
