If you love the luxurious look of suede, this beautiful double-brushed fabric from Fibre Mood is definitely worth a closer look!Featuring a wonderfully soft, suede-like surface, this fabric has a smooth, velvety appearance and a gorgeous muted olive green colour. The double-brushed finish gives it a lovely tactile quality, while the understated shade makes it wonderfully versatile.
Woven from 92% polyester and 8% elastane, this substantial 370gsm fabric combines the look of suede with the added benefit of elastane for potential flexibility and comfort.
It's a fabulous choice for creating a stylish jacket, a simple A-line skirt or a pair of beautifully structured trousers. The soft suede-look finish also lends itself to dresses and coordinated separates.
Whether you're planning a statement piece or something a little more understated, this is a lovely fabric for adding texture to your handmade wardrobe.

This Fabric Is Perfect For...
Suede-look jackets, cropped jackets, tailored trousers, straight-leg trousers, A-line skirts, pinafores, structured dresses and coordinated separates.Sewing Notes
Cutting: Use sharp scissors or a rotary cutter and pattern weights to prevent the fabric from shifting.
Nap: Check the direction of the brushed surface before cutting and lay out all pattern pieces in the same direction for a consistent colour and finish.
Stitching: A stitch length of approximately 2.5–3mm should work well. If the fabric has noticeable stretch, test a narrow zigzag stitch.
Seam Finishing: Finish raw edges with an overlocker or zigzag stitch if needed.
Pressing: Do not iron, as heat and pressure may damage or flatten the suede-like surface. Finger-press seams and use topstitching where appropriate.
Top Tip: Avoid repeatedly unpicking stitches, as needle marks may remain visible on the brushed surface. Always test your stitches on a scrap first.
