More About This Fabric
Afterglow Garden is a gorgeous statement floral with the look of flowers painted loosely in watercolour.Large, softly blended blooms tumble across a deep black background in shades of hot pink, raspberry, blush, peach, apricot and dusky mauve. The diffused edges and layers of colour give the flowers a wonderfully artistic quality, while the dark ground makes those beautiful warm shades really stand out.
Made from 60% cotton and 40% viscose, this fabric brings together some of the best qualities of both fibres. The cotton gives it a little more stability and body than a pure viscose, while the viscose adds softness and a lovely fluidity.
It's a fabulous choice if you love the movement of viscose but would like something that's a little easier to handle at the sewing machine. And with such a striking floral, you can keep the garment shape relatively simple and let Afterglow Garden do all the work.
This Fabric Is Perfect For...
Beautiful for dresses, blouses, shirts, skirts, jumpsuits, wide-leg trousers and relaxed co-ords.The cotton content also makes it a lovely option for styles that benefit from a little more structure than you'd get from a pure viscose, while still retaining plenty of softness and drape.

Recommended Needle:
Microtex 70/10 or fine Universal needle.
We recommend pre-washing before cutting, as both cotton and viscose can shrink on their first wash.
Use a Universal or Microtex needle in size 70/10 or 80/12, depending on the weight of the fabric, with a good-quality polyester thread.
When cutting, use plenty of fine pins or pattern weights to keep everything in place. With a large-scale print like this, it's also worth taking a little extra time to consider where the larger flowers will sit on your finished garment.
