Suggested fabric type
VIEW A - BARN COAT Mid- to heavyweight non-stretch wovens with structure, such as canvas, twill, denim, corduroy, or wool. VIEW B - QUILTED JACKET For a quick and easy make, choose a prequilted fabric or a substantial jacquard, brocade, or similarly beefy fabric that holds its shape without a batting layer. To create a quilted jacket: Outer and inner layer − light- to midweight woven fabrics such as cotton poplin, lawn, voile, chambray and broadcloth, or linen. Drapey fabrics are not recommended. Middle batting layer − quilt batting in cotton, bamboo, or wool.
