More About This Fabric

Indigo Watercolour is a beautifully delicate floral viscose with the look of a hand-painted watercolour.

Soft, loosely painted flowers trail across a creamy white background in layered shades of indigo, navy, cornflower and washed blue. Fine, sketch-like stems weave between the blooms, giving the whole design a light and airy quality.

We particularly love the variation within the flowers. Some are deep and inky while others appear softly washed out, just as they would if they'd been painted with a brush and water. It gives the print depth without making it feel busy.

Printed on soft and fluid viscose, the fabric has beautiful drape and movement, making it perfect for garments that float and move around the body.

Think swishy dresses, floaty blouses, gathered skirts, wide-leg trousers or a beautiful relaxed shirt. Indigo Watercolour is one of those prints that feels special while still being incredibly easy to wear.

Sewing Notes

Recommended Needle:
Microtex 70/10 or fine Universal needle.

Stitch length: Around 2–2.5mm works well.
Cutting: Viscose can shift, so cut on a large flat surface and use plenty of pattern weights or fine pins.
Staystitch: Staystitch necklines and other curved or bias-cut edges to help prevent stretching.
Seams: Finish raw edges with an overlocker, narrow zigzag or your preferred seam finish.
Pressing: Use a moderate iron temperature and press rather than dragging the iron across the fabric.
Handling: Take care not to stretch the fabric while sewing and allow the machine to feed it naturally.
