More About This Fabric
Ribbon Parade is one of those prints that looks simple at first glance, but has so much lovely detail when you look a little closer.Rows of broken, diamond-like stripes travel across a deep navy background in a fabulous mix of hot pink, soft pink, red, green and creamy natural. Different widths and irregular spacing give the design a hand-drawn quality and stop it feeling like a traditional stripe.
The dark navy ground makes all those little flashes of colour really pop, while still making this an incredibly wearable print.
Printed on soft viscose twill, it has beautiful movement and drape with the slightly more substantial handle that comes from the twill weave. It would look fabulous made into a flowing dress or blouse, but we can also see this one as a really fun pair of relaxed trousers.
And don't forget you can play with the direction of those stripes when cutting pockets, yokes or other details.
This Fabric Is Perfect For...
Perfect for dresses, blouses, shirts, skirts, wide-leg and relaxed trousers, jumpsuits and co-ords.Viscose twill has beautiful fluidity and movement while generally having a little more body than very lightweight viscose, making it particularly lovely for garments where you want drape without the fabric feeling too floaty.
Think swishy midi dresses, relaxed button-up shirts, bias-cut skirts, softly tailored trousers and easy jumpsuits.

Sewing Notes
Recommended Needle:
Microtex 60-80
Use a fine, sharp needle — around 70/10 or 80/12 — and a good-quality polyester thread.
Fine pins or sewing clips are ideal, and a walking foot can be helpful if you find the layers moving against one another while sewing.
Staystitch curved or bias-cut areas such as necklines and armholes soon after cutting to help prevent them from stretching out of shape.
Because viscose can grow slightly once hanging, it's a good idea to allow skirts and dresses to hang before hemming, particularly with full, flared or bias-cut styles.
Finish your seams with an overlocker, zigzag stitch or your preferred enclosed seam finish for a neat result.
